The coast has always felt like a place where the spirit can breathe, where land, water and sky become one. In this watercolor, I use the compass as a symbol of inner direction and shoreline as a journey between where we have been and where we are going. The soaring seabird represents freedom and possibility. Through flowing watercolor, splattered paint, and organic textures, I wanted to capture the ever-changing beauty of the NC coast and that quiet moment when the soul finds its way home.

Where the Soul Meets the Sea opens October 3. Purchased artwork remains in the exhibition through November 7 unless released earlier with curator approval.
