The sea has also been a place of reflection for me. This piece grew from a more personal understanding of what it means to pause. After losing my father in January, I realized grief, creativity and even understanding need space in my life. Ideas, solutions and inspiration don't always come in the movement of everyday life. We need moments to stop - to grieve, to decide, to wonder, to contemplate and to plan. In creating this piece, I want to honor those pauses and the power they hold to change our lives.
