Growing up in the north east, watching elderly men fish off the docks, talking to the wildlife around them. They seemed so happy despite their circumstance. Relocating to Southport almost 7 years ago there’s a continuance of this memory, but now instead of crabs and seagulls, they seem to share commonalities with the pelicans. When pelicans get too old to fish sometimes they rely on the gift of human hospitality. This piece shows that connection of growing older, but still able to enjoy the peace in their surroundings.
