Dancing with the Tide captures a fleeting moment of childhood joy at the water's edge of Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina.. The child's outstretched arms and lifted foot suggest both playfulness and an instinctive response to the movement of the sea. Through soft pastel colors and loose, expressive marks, I wanted to convey the freedom, innocence, and wonder found in simply being present with the ocean- a moment when movement, memory, and spirit seems to meet the sea.

Where the Soul Meets the Sea opens October 3. Purchased artwork remains in the exhibition through November 7 unless released earlier with curator approval.
